January 7, 2021 – Poor Norman News, Washington DC, 1:07 am, PST.
The United States Congress in a middle of the night joint session counted the votes of the electoral college and certified the results of the 2020 election which makes Joseph Biden, and Kamala Harris, the new President and Vice President of the United States respectively.
They will be sworn in as provided by the United States Constitution on January 20, 2021.
Soon thereafter, Donald Trump put out a press release stating that there will be “an orderly transition” on January 20.
Ordinarily when Congress certifies the results of a presidential election, the process takes approximately 30 minutes. This particular year in an extraordinary show of lack of respect for the democratic process, some disloyal House of Representative members, and a few Senators, tried to reverse the will of the American people.
They were overwhelmingly rejected.
It looks like for now the United States Representative Democracy is still intact.
